Easy Halloween Lantern
-An easy Halloween idea (for a quick project, teachers only need to use white A4 photopied paper, tape and black board pen)
Materials
-A4 paper (with photocopied stencil on)
-Black marker pens
-Tape
-Any different decoration eg. green paper/colours for pumpkin leaf
-Stencil is an A4 piece of paper with the handle at the short end (3cm thick)
Then
slits are made vertically along the horizontal paper (3cm apart),
leaving a 3 cm edge at the top and bottom of the horizontal sheet of
paper
(Note. You can use this idea for all types of Halloween characters ..ghost, pumpkin, Frankenstein monster, bat. And for younger learners, you could pre-draw the design on when photocopying stencil)
- Stencil to be attached soon...basically 3cm (width of a large ruler) for handle and the same for space at top and bottom of paper, and slits to cut...
Stage 1
-Photocopy onto white or coloured A4 paper
-Cut the handle part off and keep
-Fold the rest of the paper in half horizontally
-Cut slits into the fold following the line on the photocopy
Stage 2
-Draw design on the paper before formed (ghost, pumpkin, etc) ..This could be drawn on and photocopied for YLs when you photocopy the stencil
Stage 3
-Tape sides together and attach handle. Decorate!
(Students could write Halloween vocabulary up the sides of the lantern, too)
