Here's a Bouncy Spider made out of a paper plate. It can be used for Halloween or for an animal/bug theme. See the instructions or watch the Video Tutorial.
Video TutorialMaterials
-Basic materials..pencil, scissors, black pen
-Paper plate (you can use black card to cut out the painting part but it's not as effective)
-Black paint, paintbrush, container, newspaper
-White circular stickers (or normal white stickers/paper for the eyes/fangs)
-Elastic and tape
-Ruler
-Stencil provided (you will need a paper plate of around 21cm or bigger to use this)
Stencil: Click here for stencil.
Stage 1
-Cut out the stencil and draw onto the inside of the plate (you don't need to use the stencil but it's quite difficult to draw on freehand)
-Cut out
Stage 2
-Paint the inside of the plate black. Then paint the underside. Leave to dry
Stage 3
-When dry, place the plate upside down so the inside is underneath
-Place the ruler across the centre of the plate with the 'leg' parts on one side of the ruler
-Carefully fold back to form the 'face' part (if some of the raw cardboard is exposed you can colour in with the black pen)
-Fold each 'leg' back where it joins the circular centre. Then fold it the other way halfway down
-The 'face' should stick upwards. The 'legs' should stick up then downwards
Stage 4
-Add 2 circular stickers for 'eyes' and add detail with black pen
-Add 2 triangle shapes cut out of the white stickers for 'fangs'
-Attach elastic to the back of the folded 'face' ..and bounce!
