Here's a great idea to make a cute bag from kitchen cloths and a hole-puncher
Materials
-Kitchen Cloths (you can buy these in packs of 3 in different colours)
-Hole-puncher
-Wool/thick string/ribbon
-'Pritt stick' glue
-Pencil
-Scissors
-Stencils for motif (optional)
-Stapler (optional, if using the wool/ribbon as a strap)
-The cloths are usually folded in quarters. Open out and cut in half (for 2 bags)
-Hole punch along both of the sides (Do this while it's still unfolded).
It's quicker to punch the holes first then remove the excess circles
I would pre-prepare this for younger children
Stage 2
-Fold the cloth in half
-Cut a length of wool/thick string/ribbon
-Thread through the holes (some of the holes may not match up but it doesn't matter..miss some out)
-Tie the wool/string at both sides of the bottom side of the bag
-Cut the excess wool/string at both sides of the top of bag, leaving about an inch ...unless you want to use the wool/string/ribbon as the handle
-Cut out motifs from a contrasting colour of kitchen cloth
I used 1 big flower, 3 smaller flowers and 4 small circles cut from stencils and a small coin
-Glue images together if layered
Stage 4
-Cut strips of cloth (if not using the wool/ribbon)
-Staple the straps to the top 2 corners of the bag (and secure the wool at the same time)
-Stick on motifs -I used flowers to cover the staples
And that's it!
