This is easy and effective to make.
For younger children to make, you could use a green straw for the 'stem'.
Materials
-Coloured card
-Coloured tissue paper/coloured paper
-Wooden skewer and green marker pen
(or green straw)
-Green card or paper for the leaves (optional)
-Basic materials: scissors, pencil, 'prittstick' glue, tape
Stage 1
-Cut 2 flower shapes from the coloured card -One larger and one smaller, but with the same size central piece
(You can draw free-hand or use a stencil for a group of students/children)
-Cut out
Stage 2
-Place the two flowers together
-You can place them directly on top of each other or have petals overlapping so it looks like there are more petals
-Glue together
Stage 3
-Rip coloured tissue or paper into small balls
-Glue the central part of the flower
-Stick individual tissue balls into the centre of the flower
-Fold the petals forward
Stage 4
-Colour in the wooden skewer with green pen (or use a green straw)
-Tape to the back of the flower
Stage 5
-Cut thin strips of green card with pointed ends.
-Wrap the other end around the 'stem and tape to attach
And that's it!
You can make an individual flower or as part of a flower display.
