New Year / Birthday Card -Cocktails

Here are some ideas for a card for
New Year, birthdays and
celebrations.
You could make it into a calendar or
there's an easy version available for
the classroom.

Materials

-Coloured card
-Decorative paper
(wrapping paper, shiny paper, magazine pages, etc)
-Red paper/magagine page, etc for 'cherry'
-Glue ('Prittstick' is ideal)
-Scissors
-Pen
-Wooden cocktail stick/toothpick/kebab stick (optional)
-Calendar printout (optional ...could print from 'Creative Commons' or 'Google Images'

 Stage 1

-Fold coloured card to desired size

-Cut shapes out of decorative paper (this can be from magazine pages, wrapping paper, foil, etc

*I would use a couple of triangle-shaped stencils for a classroom project

-Stick on front of card (stick on rectangle of shiny paper first if you prefer it to look more effective)

Stage 2

-Cut the end of a wooden cocktail stick and stick on diagonally from the triangle shape

-Cut circle out of red shiny paper and stick over the stick

*You can draw on the 'cocktail stick' and just use coloured paper/magazine page to make easier

Stage 3

-Draw on 'stem' of glass

-Add inside decoration and message

-Add calendar dates to make into a yearly gift!
