Colourful Fish

Here's an easy project on a fish theme and to practise colour vocabulary.
Materials
*Note: You could use card/paper instead of the cardboard trays but not as 3D or effective.
-Pencil
-Black marker pen
-Scissors
-Glue ('Pritt-stick' is ideal)
-Cardboard tray (metallic-colour, if possible)
-Old magazines
-White circular sticker (or cut out from paper)
-Stencil for 'fish' shape (optional)
-Circle stencil/s (optional) cut from card (about 4cm in width)

Stage 1
-Draw a fish shape similar to the design in the photo provided
-Cut out (card or paper is easier to cut rather than the cardboard trays for younger children)

Stage 2
-Go through magazines to look for pages of particular colour
-Arrange these in piles with help from the kids/students, according to colour

Stage 3
-Draw around the stencils
-Cut out ... still keep separate piles in different colours

Stage 4
-Glue all the 'body' of the fish
-Starting from the 'tail' end, on the right-hand side, stick on the circles. overlapping in vertical lines of colour

Stage 5
-Draw around the outline of the circular stcker/paper, add eye detail with marker pen and stick on

*This project is easy, effective and great for colour vocabulary practice
